CASA CALLOT is a small apartment on the first floor of a Tuscan farmhouse, consisting of a bedroom with bathroom, a living room with kitchenette and a small bathroom.<\/p>\n

It owes its name to the famous French engraver who worked at the Medici court in the mid-1600s. His engraving work is grandiose, contemporary with Stefano della Bella, he ventured into religious and secular subjects. On the walls of the apartment you can appreciate some of the most beautiful engravings: the Gobbi, the Mendicanti and the Impruneta Fair.<\/p>\n

The marble fireplace with streaked yellow veins, French, from the 1800s, placed in the living room, has the coat of arms of the Medici family above it and below it a “Parigina” clock, contemporary with the fireplace.<\/p>\n

In the living room, in addition to Callot’s engravings, some paintings embellish the walls: a view of the Medici Port by the painter Pietro Ciafferi; a painting by Gherardo and Giuseppe Poli, landscape painters of the 1700s, imitators of the Callottian style; a landscape by a contemporary Flemish author of Callot.<\/p>\n

Apart from the entrance door, the doors between the rooms are painted with the representation of the Gobbi taken from the engravings. The habit of depicting funny characters was widely used in the past and engravers, painters and sculptors often managed to produce works in which the funny, the grotesque was a way to ironize any defects.<\/p>\n

The ceramics of the Ginori factory that can be admired on the small bookcase date back to the end of the 1800s and depict some “Caramogi”, characters that are somewhat reminiscent of the imaginative humans in Bocchi’s paintings.<\/p>\n

The apartment, which contains paintings and engravings, is however equipped with much more practical things such as a cooking point, a refrigerator, a television, a dishwasher and an air conditioning system. The heating system follows the canons of energy saving by running under the floor.<\/p>\n

Above the headboard, the bedroom has a Florentine copper frame contained in a 1600s cartouche frame, the second of which hangs in the living room. The wardrobe is a “Piedmontese” from the end of the 19th century, not particularly large but nice. On the wall opposite the bed stands out the collection of 21 engravings representing “I Gobbi” whose frontispiece is depicted in ceramic in the large shower in the bathroom. The en-suite bathroom is bright.<\/p>\n

Deve il suo nome al famoso incisore francese che lavor\u00f2 alla corte dei Medici nella met\u00e0 del 1600. La sua opera incisoria \u00e8 grandiosa, coevo di Stefano della Bella, si ciment\u00f2 in soggetti religiosi e laici. Sulle pareti dell\u2019appartamento si possono apprezzare alcune tra le pi\u00f9 belle incisioni: i Gobbi, i Mendicanti e la Fiera dell\u2019Impruneta.<\/p>

Il camino di marmo con venature gialle striate, francese, del 1800, posto nel soggiorno, ha al di sopra lo stemma di Casa Medici e al di sotto un orologio \u201cParigina\u201d, coevo del camino.<\/p>

Nel soggiorno impreziosiscono le pareti, oltre alle incisioni del Callot, alcuni quadri: una veduta del Porto Mediceo del pittore Pietro Ciafferi; un quadro di Gherardo e Giuseppe Poli, vedutisti del 1700, imitatori dello stile callottiano; un paesaggio di un autore fiammingo coevo del Callot.[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=\"1_2,1_2\" use_custom_gutter=\"on\" gutter_width=\"2\" make_equal=\"on\" _builder_version=\"4.19.4\" _module_preset=\"default\" global_colors_info=\"{}\"][et_pb_column type=\"1_2\" _builder_version=\"4.19.4\" _module_preset=\"default\" global_colors_info=\"{}\"][et_pb_text _builder_version=\"4.19.4\" _module_preset=\"default\" global_colors_info=\"{}\"]A parte la porta di ingresso, le porte tra le stanze sono dipinte con la raffigurazione dei Gobbi tratti dalle incisioni. L\u2019abitudine di raffigurare personaggi buffi era molto usata in passato e gli incisori, i pittori e gli scultori spesso riuscivano a produrre opere in cui il buffo, il grottesco era un modo per ironizzare eventuali difetti.<\/p>

Alla fine del 1800 risalgono le ceramiche della Fabbrica Ginori che si possono ammirare sulla piccola libreria, che raffigurano alcuni \u201cCaramogi\u201d, personaggi che ricordano un po\u2019 gli umani fantasiosi dei quadri di Bocchi.<\/p>

L\u2019appartamento, che contiene quadri e incisioni, \u00e8 comunque fornito di cose ben pi\u00f9 pratiche come un punto cottura, un frigorifero, una televisione, una lavastoviglie e di un sistema di condizionamento. Il sistema di riscaldamento segue i canoni del risparmio energetico correndo sotto il pavimento.<\/p>

La camera da letto presenta al di sopra della testata un rame fiorentino contenuto in una cornice cartigliata del 1600, di cui il secondo \u00e8 appeso in salotto. L\u2019armadio \u00e8 un \u201cpiemontese\u201d di fine \u2018800, non particolarmente capiente ma simpatico. Sulla parete di fronte al letto spicca la raccolta di 21 incisioni rappresentanti \u201cI Gobbi\u201d il cui frontespizio \u00e8 raffigurato in ceramica nella grande doccia del bagno.
